Monday Selection

I would like to thank the Branch members for selecting me to represent them this year. It is a pleasure to be the first Rushmoor Conservative Councillor to be selected this way. All Branch members were entitled to cast their vote for or against me. I am pleased to report all ballots apart from one were in my favour. One ballot paper was blank (probably mine, as it was a little terrifying being grilled by fellow party members). That said, I think it is far healthier than a small elite committee and much more open and democratic. I hope we now continue to select Empress councillors this way.

"their vote", David, not "there vote"

opps!! Corrected thank you. Their vote is very important and there is no excuse for bad spelling these days.

They would have been pretty dumb had they not selected you. One of the few good councillors in Rushmoor!

Hi Anonymous

How kind of you - and in spite of my poor spelling? I have to say however, I serve with some really hard working councillors; there are more than just a few who are genuinely dedicated to making our community better. My fellow ward councillors Brian Parker and Gareth Llyon are great examples. Empress is in good hands, and I am very lucky to represent such a lovely area with the most interesting cross section of residents.
